IDA Art Residency

IDA art residency aims at providing artists with a supportive environment allowing the development of creativity, research and their artistic work.

The art residency will take place July 29th through August 12th 2024 in Tuscany, Italy and host 6 resident artists.

The theme of the 2024 Residency is "Seeds Grow" and focuses on the idea of pushing boundaries, embracing experimentation, and fostering personal and artistic development.

The residency offers artists a stimulating and caring environment in the heart of the Tuscan countryside and its rich heritage.

The residency is open to artists from all over the world, regardless of medium: photography, painting, sculpture, ceramics, video, installation, music, dance.

Artists will benefit from curatorial, administrative and logistical support, as well as networking with collectors and corporate clients.

Meet the Laureates

The six laureates come from various backgrounds and work in diverse disciplines.

Marion Flament, born in 1989 in Reims, is a visual artist.
Her work revolves around the essence of places, materials, and the light that constitutes them, translating into installation and sculpture.
Her practice is primarily guided by the experimentation of fire techniques.

Louise Vendel (1993, France) is a visual artist whose work is inspired by the nocturnal environment, which changes our relationship with the world.
Through her drawings and installations, she strives to create a dialogue between the traces of wild and natural behaviour and those of our instincts, dulled by our Western comfort. In her work, the viewer's perception of space, the materiality of the object and the codes of museography are all components to be considered in the same way as the charcoal she applies, the inks she dilutes and the sound she transforms. Louise Vendel's aim is to highlight the sensitivity that emanates from these hybrid situations, which combine behaviour and facilities, symbols and human or non- human signs, creating scenes that are strange, pathetic or even cruelly banal.

Sulian Rios is a french performer, choreographer and visual artist, he lives and works in Paris. Since 2019 he has devoted himself to an artistic research around bodies and lightweight sculptures.
As a dancer he collaborated on projects with choreographers Marion Motin and Leo Walk and worked for fashion brands as Hermès, Gucci, Loewe, Jacquemus and Chanel.

Yoann Estevenin (1992) is a french artist who lives and works in Paris (France).
Graduated from the Beaux-arts de Paris in 2018, his works are mostly pastel drawings and ceramic sculptures. His work was exhibited in several exhibitions in France and Europe.

Visual artist, Jade Tang developed her practice between fieldwork and artistic creations. Since 2019, she has been focusing on plants through the lens of archaeology.
Working alongside archaeo-botanists, she engages their historical knowledge in dialogue with current environmental issues.

Conie Vallese is an Argentinian artist and designer. She works within a variety of mediums, including design, decorative objects in bronze, textiles, and ceramics. Vallese's work often draws inspiration from her love of flowers and the intricate patterns found in nature. Exploring the themes of beauty, fragility, and resilience, her work reflects the delicate balance between strength and vulnerability and the natural world.

Meet the Jury

The jury composed by five art world protagonists, specialized in contemporary art.

Art Curator & Advisor
Elise Roche, a Paris-based curator and contemporary art consultant, has been Director of Projects and Exhibitions for the Hervé Mikaeloff team since 2019. She advises LVMH Group's Houses on artistic collaborations, while contributing to the creation of exhibitions such as "L'Écume des Songes" for Art Paris, "Miss Dior" at Château de la Colle Noire, and participating in the "Noor" art festival in Riyadh.
In parallel with HM Conseils, Elise is developing an independent career as a curator, distinguishing herself with a group exhibition at Ketabi-Bourdet.
She pursues this artistic dialogue through writing, collaborating with magazines, art galleries and artists.

Eléonore Levai Belaga, IDA Art Residency's jury

Chapelle XIV Gallery Co-Founder
Co-founder of Chapelle XIV, open since 2020, Eléonore Levai Belaga is passionate about all forms of creation, and is a staunch defender of the emerging contemporary art scene. After various professional experiences in the art market (private banking, logistics, art galleries), she has acquired a broad knowledge of the market, its key players and its collectors.
Her interest in exhibition staging and her enthusiasm for discovering new talent naturally led her to focus on advising others to acquire art and design pieces.

Mathias Bensimon, IDA Art Residency's jury

Artist
Mathias Bensimon graduated from the Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2022, performer and dancer, who places light at the heart of his work. In his contemporary painting practice, Mathias achieves a true symbiosis between light, space, dance and music. During his travels he encounters new ways of creating, thinking, dancing and meditating in order to perpetually enrich his artistic approach.
Mathias has taken part in a number of exhibitions, including one at the Musée d'Orsay, a monumental Murals for the French Ministry of Culture and the Fondation Bally.
Since 2019, he has been collaborating with the Musée du Grand Palais in Paris, the Museu Arqueologico do Carmo, the musée des Beaux-Arts, the city of Ho Chi Minh, the temple of Hesadera, the Musashino museum in Tokyo as well as the Château de la Colle Noire, where he took part in the Prix Dior.

Bourse de Commerce - Pinault Collection, Head of Marketing
Graduate of ESCP, Sarah Menahem is Head of Marketing at Pinault Collection. She is responsible for marketing strategy and audience development at the Bourse de Commerce, which she contributed to open in 2021. She also created and developed the loyalty programmes for Pinault Collection.
Sarah is passionate about contemporary creativity, particularly drawing and literature. She regularly gives talks at Universities (ESCP, EAC, Nanterre, Dauphine, etc.). In parallel, Sarah practices drawing herself and was part of season 2 of the cercle de l'art.

Creative Director & Editor
An international lifestyle & sustainability editor, Clara Le Fort writes for French and international magazines.
After graduating in International Strategies from ESCP-EAP, Clara has been working as a strategic and sustainability consultant for luxury brands, creative agencies and think tanks for over a decade. Her expertise in the field of luxury and sustainability brings her to moderate conferences and create strategic content on circularity.
Food, architecture and design critic, Clara Le Fort is the editor of several books.
Clara only commits to projects with a positive impact – human, ethical, sustainable, regenerative and/or driven by talents in art, design, craft or food.
